This support enables us to train new volunteer support persons and ensures we can continue to improve our communication and digital services for everyone affected by the disease. Colores provides support and information in Finnish, Swedish, and English.

A Growing Challenge

Colorectal cancer is a significant health issue in Finland, with nearly 5,000 new diagnoses every year. It is currently the second most common cancer among both men and women, and its incidence is rising.
Fortunately, colorectal cancer is highly preventable and treatable if detected early. While national screening programs are essential for finding precancerous changes and early-stage tumors, many people still fall outside the screening age or find the topic difficult to discuss. Our mission is to break this silence and ensure that no one has to face the disease alone.

    • Lynch Syndrome Community: Reaching an estimated 10,000 individuals in Finland carrying Lynch syndrome and their families.
    • Volunteers and Support Persons: Engaging the dedicated network of Colores support staff.
    • Healthcare Professionals: Collaborating with hospitals and medical staff, including doctors, nurses, and therapists.
    • General Public (Ages 40+): Promoting digestive health and screening participation among those most at risk.
