In-person peer support

In face-to-face peer support groups, people with colorectal cancer can meet others in a similar situation and talk about how the cancer affects their lives in a safe and confidential environment.

The meetings offer an opportunity to share experiences, receive support, and realise that you are not alone.

In-person peer support

In peer support meetings, colorectal cancer and hereditary cancer risk are discussed openly, along with their impact on everyday life. You can share your experiences, ask questions, or simply join to listen to others. Discussions are based on lived experience, and the meetings do not provide guidance on treatments, medications, or medical staff.

The meetings are facilitated by trained volunteer peer supporters from Colores, who are committed to confidentiality.

At the moment, we organise open, in-person peer support meetings in the following locations:

  • Helsinki – Kamppi Service Centre, Mude Cabinet (Salomonkatu 21 B)
  • Tampere – Pirkanmaa Cancer Society premises (Hämeenkatu 5 A, 7th floor)

You are welcome to join whenever it feels right for you – registration is usually not required.

Personal support

You are not alone. A peer supporter is someone who understands through personal experience and offers confidential support when you need someone to talk to.
