Peer support for loved ones
A loved one’s illness can be overwhelming and bring up many emotions. Many people wonder how to cope themselves and how to support someone close to them.
Peer support offers a space where these thoughts can be shared safely with others in a similar situation.
Online peer support meetings for loved ones
Online peer support meetings offer an opportunity to connect with others who are going through similar experiences, talk confidentially, share experiences, and discuss concerns.
You can find information about upcoming meetings in our event calendar.
Personal peer support
Did you know that you can also talk one-to-one with our trained peer supporters, for example by phone? Read more about personal peer support.
Facebook groups
We maintain two Facebook discussion groups for loved ones. The Loved ones of colorectal cancer patients group is intended for partners, family members, and others close to someone with colorectal cancer. The Lynch syndrome peer support group welcomes both people with the syndrome and their loved ones.
The groups are private, meaning that discussions are not visible to people outside the group. They are moderated by our staff.
